Question: What came first? The rain, or Tony LaRussa?

While we ponder that conundrum, let us gather in anticipation of what last night’s rain delay has wrought: A DOUBLEHEADER!! I just freakin’ love doubleheaders!! It’s a whole day of my favorite team battling it out despite rubbery legs and weary arms. It’s like spending an entire day at my favorite amusement park, or sneaking into several movies for free on just one ticket (don’t judge, people … you’ve done this too). I LOVE IT!!

Fun fact: Our last doubleheader was Sunday July 12th, 2009 against the Chicago Cubs. We split that doubleheader, with Lohse losing the first game against Carlos Zambrano while Carpenter won the nightcap against Randy Wells. Hopefully we can win both today!!
