Making his way up: Shelby Miller promoted to AA
The Cardinals number 1 prospect, MLB ranked #13 prospect, the first round draft pick in 2008, the 20 year old right hander Shelby Miller was promoted from Palm Beach to AA Springfield. Miller had a very impressive performance in his last start striking out 12 in 7 innings, while allowing just one run. Miller has been very good in high A ball going 2-3 with 81 strikeouts in 53 innings pitched he is averaging 13.8 K’s per nine innings and as of next week will be joining the Springfield Cardinals AA rotation. This is good news for Cardinals fans who want to see their farm system produce quality talent. The majority of the roster this year is has been produced in the farm: Pujols, Molina, Craig, Jay, Greene, Kozma, Rasmus, Garcia, Salas, Sanchez, Motte, Schumaker. Hopefully prospects like Miller, Martinez, Cox, and others can all be produced to full potential and make their way to helping the big league club.
